Stunning blue and white reticulated porcelain bird cage decorated in long-tailed birds and florals, with two sculpted birds perched at the front opening. The pierced dome and band of cutouts decorating the sides create the perfect resting spot for a small candle allowing light to pour out through the lattice. It’s a substantial piece, weighing nearly 5 pounds and can anchor a bookshelf, mantle, or side table as a feature piece of blue and white chinoiserie.
Very good vintage condition overall, with two very small chips (as pictured on the bottom rim and on one of the birds) and light crazing throughout commensurate with age and light handling. No maker’s mark underneath. 10½” H x 7¾” diameter.
